Pearce charged by NRL for kneeing Titan
Mitchell Pearce will escape suspension with an early guilty plea after the NRL match review committee charged the Sydney Roosters halfback over a kneeing incident in Friday night's loss to Gold Coast.
Pearce was handed a grade one contrary conduct charge for using his knees in a tackle on Titans centre Gavin Cooper in the dying stages of his sides's 32-28 defeat.
The charge will amount to little more than a slap on the wrist though with the NSW Origin playmaker to avoid a ban by taking the early guilty plea.
That should see him take his place in the Roosters line-up for Sunday's trip to Canberra to face the Raiders.
No other charges were laid following the weekend's matches.
