Sydney FC replacing coach, chair: report
Just weeks after claiming the inaugural A-League title, Sydney FC is reportedly set to change both coach and chairman.
A boardroom faction led by David Lowy - the son of Football Federation Australia chairman Frank Lowy - wants to rein in losses of $3 million by dumping big spending chairman Walter Bugno and his $700,000 a season coach Pierre Littbarski, The Daily Telegraph reports in its Tuesday edition.
The newspaper claims Lowy wants to replace Bugno with family friend Paul Lederer, the managing director of Primo Smallgoods.
Littbarski told the newspaper he wanted to stay but would look elsewhere if the club didn't make a decision soon.
"At no stage have we talked about money but people seem to think that's what is important to me," the German coach said.
"The club has done very well. I don't know what more I could have done. Tell me yes or no but don't ell me nothing."
Sydney FC chairman Walter Bugno hinted at the club's awards night last weekend that he wouldn't be around much longer.
