IOC boss may snub Games: report
International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge is reportedly reconsidering whether he will attend the Melbourne Commonwealth Games after his Australian IOC colleague Phil Coles was denied accreditation by games organisers.
News Ltd newspapers quoted games sources as saying Coles had been snubbed as payback for sabotaging Melbourne's bid to host the 1996 Olympics.
The decision reportedly angered the IOC president.
News Ltd said Mr Rogge was now reconsidering plans to attend the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony on March 15.
Mr Coles was one of three Australian IOC members accused of secretly working against the 1996 Melbourne bid.
Members of the Melbourne bid committee, which included Melbourne Commonwealth Games chairman Ron walker, reportedly never forgave him.
