Stynes, Gardner reportedly to meet
Melbourne chairman Paul Gardner will reportedly meet with club legend Jim Stynes on Friday to discuss the leadership at the troubled AFL club.
After weeks of growing speculation, Stynes could be nearly ready to make his bid for the position of chairman.
Channel Nine's The Footy Show reported that Stynes was close to finalising the ticket that he hopes will peacefully assume control of the board.
Stynes' former teammate and Footy Show panellist Garry Lyon was confident there would be no battle for control of the club and added Stynes had the ability to lead the club.
"There won't be a stoush," Lyon said.
"No-one should ever underestimate Jim Stynes in any capacity."
The Demons only have one win for the season and have massive financial trouble in their 150th year.
