Sarwan regards McGrath as a mate
The little West Indian who famously sent Glenn McGrath over the edge two years ago insists they are now "best of friends".
Ramnaresh Sarwan's spat with McGrath, where the pair went toe-to-toe in a heated slanging match in Antigua in May 2003, made headlines around the world and saw the quick rebuked by Cricket Australia.
CA, which received complaints for a fortnight afterwards, also demanded then-captain Steve Waugh take greater control of his players.
The incident was sparked after Sarwan, on his way to a match-winning second-innings century, reportedly reacted to lurid taunts from McGrath by telling him he should ask his wife the answer.
At the time McGrath's wife Jane was recovering from radiation therapy for secondary cancer.
Sarwan said the incident was well in the past and the pair were good friends after patching up their differences after the match.
"That's behind us now," the Windies vice-captain said on Monday during training in Brisbane.
"We spent some time in Antigua and we're the best of friends.
"I thought what happened to Antigua was unfortunate and it's not going to happen again."
The first Test, starting at the Gabba on November 3, will be the first time the two teams have met in a Test since that match at St John's, which the Windies won by three wickets.
