Cayless signs league deal with St Helens
Sydney Roosters prop Jason Cayless will play for English Super League club St Helens next season after signing a four-year deal with the side.
The 25-year-old, who has played 11 times for New Zealand, says the opportunity to work with new Saints coach Daniel Anderson, a fellow Kiwi, helped convince him to move to England.
"It will be great to again work under Daniel Anderson and to link up with former teammates and friends such as Jamie Lyon, Vinnie Anderson and Willie Talau," Cayless told the club's website.
"The Saints are committed to the style and quality of rugby league which I want to be a part of and associated with.
"It's a star-studded side but with a fantastic team and club ethic. I'll be sorry to leave the Roosters which has been a phenomenal experience but the Saints present a new and very exciting opportunity for me."
Anderson coached Cayless when he was the national team coach for New Zealand.
"Jason will add size, strength and dynamism to our pack which will be fearsome next season," Anderson told the website.
"He will fit our style of play perfectly and will improve our overall physicality and skill levels."
Cayless appeared in three grand finals during his time in the NRL.
