Johncock wants place in Crows midfield
Adelaide utility Graham Johncock wants to win a midfield berth in the AFL side this season, after spending the summer working on his stamina.
With the Crows looking to ease the load of star midfield quartet Mark Ricciuto, Simon Goodwin, Andrew McLeod and Tyson Edwards, the 22-year-old Johncock is desperate to be given an opportunity.
"That's something I've been working on over the last couple of years and (coach Neil Craig) told me that I might get a shot in the midfield, so hopefully I can go out there and just do the best I can," he said.
"I've done a lot of work running-wise with Chris Ladhams and Ricciuto and McLeod has spoken to me a little bit.
"It's something I've been working on.
"I want to get around the action, where the ball is all the time, it's something definitely I'd love to do."
Having proved his skills and poise as a running defender and as a half-forward capable of kicking bags of goals, Johncock said the one attribute he had to prove he had developed to earn a regular midfield role was his endurance.
"That's where I've done a lot of work," he said.
"I haven't got the strength of Brett Burton that can run all day, that sort of stuff.
"That's something that I've been working on and hopefully I can have a go at it this weekend."
