Blame players, says Crows defender
Adelaide defender Ken McGregor says the blame for the Crows' dismal start to the AFL season should be carried by the senior players, not coach Gary Ayres.
Adelaide lost by 75 points in round one against the Kangaroos and by 21 points to Brisbane on Saturday, and looked like a dispirited team in both matches.
But McGregor said there was no sense that Crows players were losing faith in their coaching staff or game plan.
"We're 100 per cent behind the coaching group," McGregor said.
"There's not a word going out by anyone that we haven't got the right game plan to go as high as we want to go.
"Everyone's behind them and we know it's not the coaches' fault.
"They've set the right game plans, I think it's just that we haven't carried it out and we haven't done what we're supposed to do as players at the moment."
Adelaide midfield stars Mark Ricciuto and Andrew McLeod have been well down on form in the first two rounds and McGregor admitted too much was being left up to the Crows' youngsters.
"A lot of the younger blokes have played a bit better ... (James) Gallagher and (Graham) Johncock and that are playing very well at the moment," he said.
"Maybe a couple of the experienced boys were down a bit so if they can play to their level and then the young blokes play even better I think that's where the improvement will come from."
