Bangladesh claims historic Test victory
Bangladesh created history with its first-ever Test victory on the final day of the first Test against Zimbabwe at Chittagong.
Enamul Haque jnr was the hero with six wickets as they achieved the breakthrough win after being granted international status by the ICC in 2000.
Resuming on 46 for three, Zimbabwe were dismissed for 154 in the afternoon session to give Bangladesh victory by 226 runs.
The visitors are returning to the Test arena after losing their status over a controversial fall-out between selectors and a group of senior players, who are still missing from a line-up of dubious merit at the highest level.
Brendan Taylor and Hamilton Masakadza held up Bangladesh for an hour in the morning.
Their partnership was finally ended when Taylor was trapped lbw by Haque jnr for 44 with the score on 112.
Haque jnr struck again when he removed first-innings hero Tatenda Taibu for a duck. The Zimbabwe captain was well caught at short leg by Aftab Ahmed.
Haque jnr completed a fine morning's work by ending Masakadza's brave resistance.
The slow left-arm bowler took a fine return catch to dismiss Masakadza for 54 to reduce Zimbabwe to 126 for six.
Elton Chigumbura was caught after lunch for 10 by wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud off Mashrafe Mortaza.
