Sydney Roosters officials remain confident Justin Hodges will see out the season with the N-R-L club despite the troubled centre being dropped and missing his second training session in three days.

Hodges, who will return to Brisbane next season, has been demoted to the Premier League bench by coach Ricky Stuart after missing a training run on Sunday.

Shannon Hegarty returns to first grade.

Meanwhile, centre Ryan Cross is expected to make a decision about staying with the Roosters or taking up offers from both the NSW and Queensland rugby union sides.
