Victoria sweeps domestic cricket awards
Victorian batsmen Matthew Elliott and Brad Hodge have swept the major state cricket awards in a pre-Pura Cup final boost for the Bushrangers.
Elliott was voted Pura Cup player of the year for the third time, edging out team-mate David Hussey.
Elliott also finished second behind another Victorian batsman, Brad Hodge, in the ING Cup player of the year award.
"My team-mates have really helped me find the love of cricket again," said Elliott.
"I've even got luckier this year - I seem to have been dropped a lot when I've been batting."
The Bushrangers play Queensland in the Pura Cup final starting at the MCG on Friday.
Victorian skipper Belinda Clark was voted best player in the women's national league.
And South Australia was the inaugural winner of the Benaud Spirit of Cricket Award for the Pura Cup and the ING Cup.
