SA must look to the future: Lehmann
South Australian captain Darren Lehmann says selectors will look to the future after the team farewelled its Pura Cup final chances with an outright loss to Victoria.
SA lost to the Bushrangers by 197 runs at Adelaide Oval, crashing out for 156 in its second innings.
It followed a similar collapse against Tasmania in the Redbacks' previous match and Lehmann said it was time to experiment with the next generation of batsmen.
"We've certainly got to look to the future probably now," Lehmann said.
"I think there'll be some changes."
Lehmann said the SA second XI had been performing well this season and deserved to be rewarded.
"I'm sure one or two might get a game next game," he said.
Lehmann said the batting performances in recent matches were inexcusable.
"It's very disappointing the way we're playing," he said.
"I make no bones about it, we've been very disappointing for the last few games.
