Moss cleared for Victoria
Victoria received unexpected good news when allrounder Jon Moss declared himself fit for the ING Cup one-day cricket match against Queensland.
Chairman of selectors Mick O'Sullivan was surprised when told Moss felt he could bowl in the MCG match.
Victoria was going to rest Moss if he could only bat, with a final decision to be made Sunday morning.
Moss suffered a groin strain during his knock of 80 earlier this week, in the Pura Cup match against Queensland at Junction Oval.
He then bowled only three overs in Queensland's massive 7(dec)-605, highlighted by the unbeaten 300 from captain Martin Love.
"At this stage he's playing, but it's not quite set in stone," O'Sullivan said of Moss.
"The physio was happy and he was happy, at least he's right back in the mix - he's 95 per cent there."
Nick Jewell will come into the side if Moss is a late withdrawal, with Victoria mindful it has another Pura Cup game starting next Wednesday against Western Australia.
Victoria will definitely regain veteran wicketkeeper Darren Berry, who is over a broken finger.
The Bulls took first-innings points this week at Junction Oval, but have their own injury woes going into Sunday's game.
