Rucker inspires Bullets to win
The Brisbane Bullets consolidated their place in the NBL's top four with a clinical 103-94 victory over the Adelaide 36ers.
Rebounding from the home loss to the Melbourne Tigers, the Bullets overcame a five point halftime deficit to finish full of running and win convincingly.
Veteran Derek Rucker was outstanding for the visitors, sinking a three-pointer on the three quartertime buzzer to give his team the lead.
He then scored 15 of his 23 points for the match in a dominant last quarter.
Earlier, the 36ers jumped out to a 9-4 lead with Mark Nash and Jacob Holmes prominent.
But Brisbane soon settled and with forward Bobby Brannen and guard Ben Walker finding the net at regular intervals, the margin stayed close.
The pace stepped up a gear in the second quarter and the sure shooting of Brannen helped the Bullets open up a four point break.
But, suddenly, Adelaide captain Brett Maher and import Dusty Rychart took control.
Laser accurate from long range and inside the paint, the pair sparked an 11-0 run for the 36ers, who raced to a 54-49 halftime lead.
But the Bullets hit back hard.
