Sixers hold off Pigs 125-118
Adelaide 36ers held off a fast-finishing West Sydney Razorbacks to win a thrilling NBL clash 125-118 at the Distinctive Homes Dome.
The 36ers appeared to be cruising with a 22-point lead early in the game before the Razorbacks levelled scores in the final term to almost deny a desperately needed win for the home side.
Adelaide's Darren Ng and Adam Ballinger sank 24 points each with Brad Davidson finishing with 17.
Liam Rush top-scored for the Razorbacks with 22 points while Graeme Dann and Darnell Hinson scored 19 apiece.
After a tight opening a series of 36ers' three-point plays gave the home side a 43-26 lead at the first break.
The lead blew out to 22 points early in the second before Dann, Rush and Troy DeVries found some shooting form to keep the Razorbacks in the contest with a 72-59 halftime score.
During the third team Matthew Knight led a Razorbacks surge to pull within six points.
But veteran Lanard Copeland helped the 36ers regain some composure only to see the Razorbacks again steal the momentum to trail 100-95 at three quartertime.
Rush levelled scores with a three-pointer then Ng and Ballinger steadied to see the 36ers home.
