Sydney FC are predicting their biggest ever crowd for a regular A-League season game when they host Melbourne Victory at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.

John Kosmina's men will go in search of the minor premiership and an Asian Champions League berth in the final round of the home and away season.

The sky blues are locked in a tense four-way tie with Queensland, Central Coast and Newcastle on 31 points at the top of the ladder and all are involved in separate matches this weekend.

With so much as stake combined with the lively Sydney-Melbourne rivalry, Sydney FC chief George Perry expects the regular-season record attendance of 25,557 - set against Adelaide in February 2005 - to be broken.

"We would expect our biggest regular season crowd in the history of Sydney FC this week," Perry said.

"Ticket sales how been going gangbusters today but even last week they were particularly strong.

"It's been the strongest selling game of the season by a far way at the moment, which is great.

"It would be great for Sydney fans to come out support their team and try and help us qualify for Asian Champions League and win the minor premiership this weekend."

The Victory, reigning A-league champions, are out of finals contention but have won their past three games and are arguably the form team of the competition.

"Melbourne will be out to ruin our party but we're out to win the minor premiership so we'll se what we can do,"Perry said.

"It's the Sydney-Melbourne rivalry, which is already becoming one of the great rivalries in Australian sport, and it's the two (former) champions coming up against each other."

Sydney returned home today following Sunday night's dour 0-0 draw with Queensland at Suncorp Stadium.

The result ensured Sydney became the first club to complete a regular season unbeaten away from home.
