Only 9,000 tickets left for Swans clash
Only 9,000 tickets remained available late Wednesday for Saturday night's Sydney-Brisbane AFL preliminary final at Telstra Stadium.
Saturday afternoon's Collingwood-Port Adelaide preliminary final could be televised live into Melbourne, with the MCG match sold out to the public.
There were still 2,100 AFL members tickets available for the Melbourne game, which will feature a crowd of about 78,000.
The Sydney crowd will be about the same if the remaining tickets are sold, meaning that city's AFL crowd record would be broken for the second time this season.
The Swans and Collingwood set the new Sydney mark when 72,393 fans watched their round 21 game at the stadium.
Previous attendance records for matches between the four finalists were 51,883 in round one, 1997 when Port played the Magpies in its first AFL match and round two, 1998 when Sydney and Brisbane set their old record of 32,111.
