Season could be over for Port's Schulz
Port Adelaide spearhead Jay Schulz's AFL season could be over because of a foot injury.
Schulz injured the plantar fascia tendon in his right foot during the Power's 32-point loss to Adelaide on Sunday.
The key forward was having scans on Monday to determine the extent of his ailment, which coach Matthew Primus conceded post-match could be a season-ender.
Utility Tom Logan sustained a similar injury while defender Jackson Trengove suffered a swollen knee.
Both were also being assessed on Monday as goalsneak Cameron Hitchcock said some Port players were not trying hard enough.
Hitchcock's comments mirrored Primus, who said after the match the effort of his players was not up to AFL standard.
"It's not the greatest thing you want to hear from a coach," Hitchcock told reporters on Monday.
"I think he's right in a way though.
"We just need to somehow develop consistency and care for each other."
Port remain anchored on the bottom of the ladder with just two wins and a looming home fixture against a rampant Collingwood this Saturday night.
"It's sticking in our guts where we are sitting on the ladder at the moment, it's obviously very disappointing," Hitchcock said.
"It's just not happening for us at the moment ... our best is alright, but our bad is not up to AFL standard.
"This footy club has got a very good tradition, is very proud, and it's not a good feeling for supporters or players at the moment."
