Season over for North youngster Speight
A serious shoulder injury has ended the AFL season for North Melbourne speedster Ben Speight.
The 21-year-old suffered the injury on the weekend after falling awkwardly during a tackle just a few minutes before the end of the game against the Western Bulldogs.
Speight played a key role in the Kangaroos' win after he was activated as the substitute player late in the game.
He had nine possessions, kicked a vital goal at Etihad Stadium and produced an eye-catching goal-saving tackle on Bulldog Jarrad Grant in the fourth term.
Speight joins Sam Wright, Ayden Kennedy and Matthew Scott on the sidelines for the rest of the year.
