Drunken AFL fan fined $5000 in Adelaide
A drunken AFL fan who ran onto the field during West Coast's win over Adelaide has been fined $5000.
The 18-year-old man leapt the boundary fence and advanced about 30 metres into the field of play in the third quarter at Adelaide's AAMI Stadium on Saturday.
The man ran to the painted number on the 50 metre line at the southern end of the ground.
A kick into West Coast's attack went within 15m of the man, who turned and sprinted for the boundary.
After jumping the fence and returning to his seat for a brief moment, the man trotted towards a stadium exit where he was apprehended by authorities.
An AFL match day official said the man was drunk and had been fined $5000 for trespassing.
