Pies' Morrison caught drink-driving
Collingwood player Chad Morrison has become the latest representative of an AFL club sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to commit a drink-driving offence.
Morrison was breath-tested with a blood alcohol count of 0.093 in Richmond on Saturday night, the Magpies said.
He received an on-the-spot fine of $314 and had his licence cancelled for six months.
The TAC is a community partner of the Magpies, and was a tier one sponsor of the club until July last year.
Earlier this month, Geelong team manager Garry Davidson lost his licence for six months after blowing .075.
The Cats have a signage and corporate networking arrangement with the TAC.
Last year, Richmond lost its major sponsorship with the TAC when defender Jay Schulz was caught over the limit, following another incident in 2001 involving former Tigers player Royce Vardy.
Morrison, 28, has not played a game with the Magpies this season, after playing 15 last year, his first season with the club.
He played 148 games with West Coast over nine seasons before joining Collingwood.
Two years ago, Morrison's team-mate Cameron Cloke lost his licence for six months when he was clocked at 144kph in a 100 zone.
The Magpies also fined Cloke $5000.
