Heighington avoids ban at NRL judiciary
Wests Tigers forward Chris Heighington has succeeded in having his grade two careless high tackle charge downgraded at the NRL Judiciary.
Heighington is free to play against Brisbane at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night after he avoided a one-match ban.
The hard-working second rower was the first player to appear before the judiciary in 2011, as he challenged the grading of his high shot on Gold Coast's Greg Bird from last Friday night.
Heighington's availability for the Broncos clash is a big boost to the Tigers, who also welcome back stars Keith Galloway, Liam Fulton and Beau Ryan from injury.
