Ennis, Rose, Ryan out of NRL action
Wests Tiger Beau Ryan feared he would be suspended for a month of football, but he'll only miss this weekend's clash with the Sydney Roosters, after a successful night for the winger at the NRL Judiciary.
Three players will sit out round two action after Canterbury's Michael Ennis and Manly's George Rose took early guilty pleas and Ryan had his charge downgraded at the judiciary on Wednesday night.
Ryan was looking at four weeks on the sideline after being charged with a grade three Dangerous and unnecessary contact with the head and neck, otherwise known a "crusher" tackle from Monday night's match against the Sea Eagles.
However, the Wests winger was able to successively downgrade his charge to a grade two, meaning he'll only miss this Sunday's clash with the Sydney Roosters.
Hooker Ennis was charged with a grade two careless high tackle on Newcastle opposite Matt Hilder in the Bulldogs' loss to the Knights last Saturday.
Ennis took the early guilty plea and will leave a big hole in the Bulldogs' line-up to face St George Illawarra on Friday night.
Powerhouse prop Rose was one of three Sea Eagles players placed on report after their fiery clash with the Tigers.
Brent Kite and Kieran Foran were charged with grade one careless high tackles, but were able to avoid punishment by taking the early guilty plea.
Rose was hit with a grade four charge for his careless high shot on Tigers' reserve Daniel Fitzhenry and will miss his side's battle with the Eels at Parramatta Stadium on Sunday.
Warriors five-eighth James Maloney and Gold Coast rookie Bodene Thompson were both charged with grade one dangerous contact with the kicker when their two teams met last Sunday at Skilled Park.
However, both are free to play this weekend with the early plea.
