Cats get stars back
Already flying high, unbeaten Geelong will be further bolstered by a trio of returning star players for Sunday's AFL clash with Port Adelaide at Skilled Stadium.
The Cats will be boosted in their bid for a hat-trick of wins by the addition of fullback Matthew Scarlett from suspension, tough forward Cameron Mooney (general soreness) and midfielder Joel Selwood (concussion).
"If they're all available, then we're going to have some difficulties at selection, which is a nice problem to have," coach Chris Scott said on Tuesday.
As well, Cameron Ling and Paul Chapman have pulled up well after helping the Cats overpower Fremantle in Perth last Saturday.
"We're fortunate in that we've got an eight-day break, but I'm not sure the travel to Perth twice a year has a big impact," Scott said.
"It certainly does if you do it every second week, but if we have a poor week on the track or we play poorly this week, it won't be because we came back from Perth."
Meanwhile, defender Tom Lonergan, a late withdrawal against the Dockers, is set to be sidelined for another week with a calf problem.
"We won't know until he's tested it completely and he hasn't done that yet," Scott said.
