Pratt wants Fevola AFL return: report
Powerful Carlton board member Jeannie Pratt has weighed into speculation about Brendan Fevola's future, saying she wants him back at the AFL club.
The Blues senior vice-president is well-known for her support of Fevola, who is trying to resurrect via the VFL.
According to a media report on Thursday night, she wants the Blues to give him one last chance.
"I would take him back, I would be happy to have him back," Pratt said in a statement read out on Channel Nine's The Footy Show..
"That is my own view and it doesn't mean he will be back.
"I think he's a star."
The Footy Show stressed it was Pratt's personal opinion, but the program's co-host and North Melbourne chairman James Brayshaw noted the comments would cause a stir at Carlton.
"It is very unusual for a director of a footy club to speak individually - normally the president or the CEO or the coach speaks on behalf of the club with an opinion on a matter," Brayshaw said.
"So I imagine ... there will be some private discussions along the lines of 'what the hell were you thinking'?"
Pratt is the widow of former Carlton president Richard Pratt and she is a powerful figure at the club.
The Blues sacked Fevola at the end of 2009 and he went to Brisbane, a move that ended in disaster after only one season.
He has battled alcohol and gambling problems, but lately has shown strong form playing for Casey in the VFL.
The two-time Coleman Medallist kicked 10 goals last weekend.
Fevola kicked several of those goals while playing on Carlton defender Michael Jamison, who was having a run for the Blues' VFL affiliates the Northern Bullants.
