Yarran signs new deal
Young Carlton forward Chris Yarran has signed on for another two seasons with the AFL club.
The 19-year-old, now tied to the Blues until the end of 2012, has kicked 16 goals in 12 games this season, after playing six matches in his debut season last year.
Yarran's combination with fellow indigenous small forwards Eddie Betts and Jeff Garlett has been a key to the Blues' attack this season.
Taken with the No.6 pick in the 2008 national draft, the teenager said he was trying to repay Carlton for what he thought was a disappointing first year for a top-10 draft pick.
"I thought I let the club down. I didn't really play as many games as I should have," Yarran told the Blues' website.
"I just wanted to pay the club back for the faith that they've shown in me by drafting me pretty high.
"I thought to myself that I had let them down last year, but this year I'm having a lot of fun and I'm playing some good footy."
