Bligh proud of Maroon victory
The Queensland premier says she can't wait to see the Maroons flag flying from the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Anna Bligh has congratulated the Queensland team for clinching the first State of Origin clean sweep in 15 years.
In front of 60,000 fans at Sydney's ANZ Stadium, the Maroons capped off their five-year dominance with a 23-18 win in State of Origin III on Wednesday.
Ms Bligh said NSW would honour its bet with Queensland and fly the Maroons flag from the top of the harbour bridge from Monday.
"This will be the first time that a Maroon flag has flown over Sydney," she said in a statement on Thursday.
"Normally it's the Queensland state flag which is a bit hard to distinguish from that height."
