Elsom in doubt for Barbarians
Rocky Elsom is in doubt for the Barbarians clash against the Wallabies on Saturday night with former Australian No.8 David Lyons called into the side on standby.
Elsom will be given until Saturday morning to prove his fitness on a sore knee before a decision will be made as to whether he will play his first match at the Sydney Football Stadium in over a year.
Lyons, who returned to Sydney for a holiday, received the call-up on Thursday to join the Barbarians side after playing this season with Welsh rugby side Ospreys.
"It's good to be involved," Lyons said on Friday.
"It's just great to come in and be amongst the boys and I'm looking forward to, if I do get the opportunity to play.
"It's only been two-and-a half weeks since I've played after a playing a long season ... it's not too long between drinks."
Elsom took part in the Barbarians' relaxed training session, which lasted about 20 minutes on Friday in a park under the Harbour Bridge in the Rocks.
