Lions dismiss Port revenge factor
Brisbane AFL coach Leigh Matthews has ruled out revenge for last year's grand final loss as extra motivation against reigning premier Port Adelaide on Saturday night.
Matthews said there was not "one iota" of a revenge factor within Brisbane for the AAMI stadium clash, before which Port will unfurl its premiership flag.
Both sides enter the fixture with numerous changes to their grand final teams, through injury and suspension.
"They have got a lot of their players, the strength of their team, not there - so have we," Matthews said.
"We are (both) probably about 80 per cent of our available personnel, whether we are worse off, or they are worse off, we'll find out tomorrow."
Matthews said whether captain Michael Voss, who has stitches to a stab wound in a calf, would play would be decided until the morning.
Port coach Mark Williams expected Voss to play in a match he described as exciting for his club, given the unfurling of the premiership flag.
"It's a huge occasion for all our public and all the people that have watched us over the years," Williams said.
"To come to a grand final is one thing but to actually come and watch the flag get raised is one of the other big memorable moments in a club's lifetime."
Williams tipped a customary battle between the clubs - tough and close.
