Package scare at Greek training camp
Greece suffered a World Cup scare when a suspect package saw a police explosives unit called in after their training, an AFP photographer said.
The Greek side had completed their training session and were about to leave the plush boys school in north Durban where it was held when extra police with sniffer dogs arrived to seek out what the package contained.
Police were able to promptly remove the package, which had been delivered to a volunteer at the gate of Northwood School but had not been scanned.
Greece open their World Cup campaign against South Korea on Saturday. They then play Nigeria in Bloemfontein on June 17 and round off their Group B games against Argentina five days later in Polokwane.
