The AFL has confirmed both of next weekend's semi-finals will be played as night games at the MCG.

The first semi will feature the loser of Sunday's clash between St Kilda and Collingwood and the winner of Friday's Adelaide and Essendon encounter, and be played on Saturday, September 12.

The second semi will feature the loser of Saturday's meeting between Geelong and Western Bulldogs, and the winner of Saturday night's Brisbane-Carlton game, and take place on Friday, September 11.

The winners of the semi-finals will proceed to preliminary finals the following weekend, and the losers will be eliminated.
