Hazem the difference for 'Dogs
Hazem el Masri scored two tries, including his 150th career effort, and kicked the winning goal to secure the Bulldogs a thrilling 22-20 win over Wests Tigers on Sunday.
And you can back el Masri, who is a stand out under pressure, to top that performance in his 300th premiership game against St George Illawarra on May 15th.
The winger received a huge ovation from the 20,000-plus home crowd when he scored his 150th try and his second for the game.
He flirted with the dead ball line to run closer to the sticks and make his conversion easier.
"It was huge, I guess in a way I was looking forward to it, people were letting me know about it, especially with the 300 games milestone coming up, so it was nice to get to the 150 as well," El Masri said, elated to play such a hand in the 'Dogs fifth-straight victory which sent them to the top of the NRL ladder.
"I'm ecstatic, it's been wonderful to be honest."
El Masri had a glimpse of the media attention his 300th NRL game will attract when the spotlight turned last week on Brisbane five-eighth Darren Lockyer, who played his 300th on Saturday.
"Normally I like to stay low profile, I don't normally do too much (media)," el Masri said.
"It's great publicity for the club and for myself and for everyone.
"I guess as a local junior, you want to show kids that you can come up (through the ranks) and you can achieve big milestones."
The Bulldogs have this week off for the bye and el Masri will play his 300th match in two weeks against the Dragons at Kogarah.
