Broncos battling flu bug
Brisbane is battling to contain a flu outbreak on the eve of their NRL clash with Newcastle on Saturday night.
Prop Nick Kenny was isolated from teammates on Friday while halfback Peter Wallace trained despite showing flu-like symptoms.
Brisbane's final training run on Friday was unusually light before the team headed south to play the Knights.
"We didn't do much this morning it was a pretty light session," said coach Ivan Henjak.
"We got a couple of illness concerns there's a few boys with some effects of the flu.
"Nick (Kenny) caught it yesterday.
"Peter Wallace is a little bit crook and Sammy (Sam Thaiday).
"We'll monitors things over the next 24 hours but we should be right."
Brisbane skipper Darren Lockyer, who will play his 300th premiership game, has made sure his milestone is not a motivating factor for his teammates.
Lockyer said he was taking his biggest career milestone as just another week and the players had kept things low key.
"To me it's another week with just a lot more questions about what 300 games means to me," said Lockyer.
"It's been a great week so far.
"What it does it bring back some great memories of the early days.
"I think the best way to sum up is that I feel fortunate to have been here for so long and played 300 games.
"The boys know they don't have to win for me on Saturday."
