Campese in Raiders' leadership group
Terry Campese has been named as part of the Canberra Raiders' senior leadership group for the 2009 NRL season.
Campese, 24, who made his Kangaroos debut in the Rugby League World Cup last year, joins club Captain Alan Tongue and senior forward Troy Thompson in a streamlined three-man leadership group.
The group was elected by the Raiders players during their pre-season camp, and announced as part of the club's preparation towards the start of the new season.
"It's a big responsibility to be a part of the senior leadership group and it's a great feeling to know that the boys voted me in," Campese said.
"I think the position I play at five-eighth makes me one of the leaders on the field and hopefully I can do this off-field as well."
