Fiora accepts one-match AFL ban
St Kilda midfielder Aaron Fiora will miss Sunday's important game against Fremantle at Subiaco after the Saints accepted a sanction against him for striking.
The club decided against challenging a one-match ban against the star midfielder.
Fiora was reported by umpire Jason Armstrong for striking Collingwood's John McCarthy during the second quarter of the game against St Kilda at the MCG on Saturday.
The penalty could not be reduced with an early plea because of Fiora's carry-over points from last year.
He was the only player reported from last weekend's round 19 matches although the match review panel looked at incidents involving Melbourne's Lynden Dunn and Bulldog Robert Murphy before clearing them.
