Davico re-signs with Raiders
All's well that ends well as far as the Canberra Raiders and prop Luke Davico are concerned.
Davico ended more than a month of uncertainty when he signed a new two year deal with the National Rugby League club, ignoring a host of suitors seeking his services.
However, it wasn't all good news for the Raiders, with winger Jamaal Lolesi rejecting the club's latest offer and announcing he would test the open market.
Davico, who will play his 150th first grade game for the Raiders this weekend, made his debut in 1994 and has been on the cusp of Origin football this season.
His signature took on added importance after the manager of Manly prop Aaron Cannings told the Raiders his charge had ruled out joining the club.
"It's a major relief," Davico said.
"We did some toing-and-froing but I'm satisfied with the outcome."
Davico conceded he had become frustrated with the length of negotiations, which at one stage prompted him to consider leaving the club.
"It was upsetting and disappointing that it went on so long," he said.
"I'd spoken to a couple of clubs but I really wanted to stay all along."
