Bushrangers stage fightback to beat Tas
Victoria staged a stunning fightback to beat Tasmania by 55 runs in their one-day cricket match at the MCG.
After being dismissed for a modest 200 from 49.3 overs, the Bushrangers bowled and fielded solidly to dismiss the Tigers for 145 in 43.1 overs.
Remarkably, Victoria also gained a bonus point for restricting Tasmania to less than 80 per cent of its total.
Tasmania started its innings steadily and appeared in control at 1-74 in the 19th over.
But it lost captain Ricky Ponting for 10 and Travis Birt for a duck and the innings never recovered.
The Tigers still looked capable of recovering while opener Tim Paine was in, but the game swung decisively Victoria's way when Gerard Denton bowled the top scorer for 56.
Jon Moss was named man of the match for his crucial bowling effort through the middle of the innings, where he took 1-20 from 10 overs.
