Windies set 407 to win
The West Indies will have to post a record run chase to overhaul Australia in the second Test in Trinidad after Matthew Hayden became the latest batsman to post a century.
The Windies were set 407 runs for victory after Australian captain Steve Waugh declared the tourists' second innings closed at 3-238 before the scheduled tea break on the fourth day.
Australia's bowlers were left with 37 overs today with a minimum of 90 overs on Wednesday, leaving the Windies facing a run rate of 3.20 to win on a wicket which remained relatively good for batting.
The highest successful run chase in Tests was recorded in Port of Spain 27 years ago when India reached 4-406 to beat the West Indies.
Hayden posted the 10th century of the series, reaching 100 not out before Waugh declared.
Darren Lehmann was bowled for 66 by Merv Dillon (2-64) after a partnership of 120 with Hayden.
