No Dragons contract for Mundine: report
National Rugby League club St George Illawarra will reportedly not be offering boxing champion Anthony Mundine a contract out of fears it would upset captain Trent Barrett and other players.
A club official has told The Daily Telegraph that the former player won't be offered a deal when he meets with close friend and coach Nathan Brown next week.
"The coach and the CEO are meeting him out of courtesy but the won't be signing him," the official was quoted as saying.
It says Barrett has already been told by Brown and CEO Peter Doust that Mundine is not part of their plans.
The paper says Mundine will be told at the meeting the club has salary cap issues and cannot afford to sign him.
Mundine has said the Dragons and the New Zealand Warriors were sides he was considering joining after his rescheduled world title fight later this year.
