Gillespie out of England clash
Fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been ruled out of Australia's World Cup match against England in Port Elizabeth.
Gillespie succumbed to his troublesome right heel which he originally aggravated in a bowling session before Australia's match against Namibia on February 27.
Despite being ruled fit enough to play that match, he was left out as a precautionary measure.
Australian physiotherapist Errol Alcott said a net session this morning revealed that Gillespie had not completely overcome the problem.
"After a short bowl at St Georges Park this morning, Jason still felt some slight discomfort in the Achilles tendon area of his right foot," Alcott said.
"We felt that it would be best to leave him out of the match tomorrow to ensure he overcomes the problem properly."
Queensland paceman Andy Bichel keeps his place in the Australian side, which has the same line-up as the Namibia match.
The Australian team is:
Matthew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist (vc) Ricky Ponting (c), Damien Martyn, Darren Lehmann, Michael Bevan, Andrew Symonds, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Andy Bichel, Glenn McGrath.
