Ponting confident against NZ
Australian one day cricket captain Ricky Ponting says his side will use its new-found knowledge of Indian conditions against an understrength New Zealand in their tri series clash at Faridabad.
Ponting says the side learned a lot from its 37-run loss to India in its opening match and will use it to full effect against a Kiwi side without injured allrounder Chris Cairns.
But Australia also has fitness concerns with paceman Michael Kasprowicz added to their long injury list with a buttock strain.
Australia has retained the same 12 that it used against India, with batsman and occasional offspinner Michael Clarke likely to carry the drinks.
Both sides are still to finalise their teams.
Australia: Ricky Ponting (capt), Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Damien Martyn, Andrew Symonds, Michael Bevan, Michael Clarke, Ian Harvey, Brad Hogg, Andy Bichel, Nathan Bracken, Brad Williams (12th man to be named).
New Zealand (likely): Stephen Fleming, Brendon McCullum, Lou Vincent, Scott Styris, Craig McMillan, Chris Harris, Jacob Oram, Daniel Vettori, Darryl Tuffey, Paul Hitchcock, Kyle Mills.
