Kasper pulls out of Glamorgan contract
Veteran paceman Michael Kasprowicz said he had pulled out of his contract with English county Glamorgan because he did not want to let anyone down.
"By coming on this tour (to South Africa), then having the winter at home and training hard it will give me the best opportunity to be at my best for the start of the next season," Kasprowicz said ahead of Friday's second Test in Durban.
"Whether that's playing for Australia or whether it's just for Queensland, I can't see in the future.
"I'm just looking forward to getting home and having a great off season and starting next year with a bang.
"It's something that I stewed over a lot in that, having a good relationship with Glamorgan after a couple of good seasons there, I didn't want to let anyone down.
"I just felt that it was going to give me the best opportunity to be at my best."
Dropped during last year's doomed Ashes campaign, the 34-year-old pace bowler now finds himself opening the bowling for Australia again, taking 2-44 and 1-39 in last week's first Test win in Cape Town.
Leading paceman Glenn McGrath is not available for the South African tour because of wife Jane's cancer battle, although the lanky New South Welshman is hoping to return for the Ashes Test series in November.
"It's only natural that it's going to feel good after a three-day Test match. It's always a good feeling," Kasprowicz said after his successful Test comeback.
"Over the years I've been in and around the Australian side it's always been good, with all the bowlers coming in there is always great respect for one another and for the guys in the team.
"You know there's blokes working hard to get in the side which makes you work twice as hard to stay in there."
Kasprowicz said he had spent most of his career either "just in or just out" of the Test team.
"Over that time you learn to just prepare yourself to play," he said.
"Whether it's in the nets or the middle, or practice games, you just have to make do."
