Australian golf amalgamation closer
The amalgamation of the Australian Golf Union (AGU) and Women's Golf Australia (WGA) into Golf Australia has moved a step closer, with the legal requirements to create the new governing body for Australian golf now complete.
Golf Australia chief executive Tony Hallam said the venture had been unanimously ratified by the AGU and the WGA earlier this week, with the next step now being to conduct a review process to help establish a strategic direction for the next three years.
"Finalising the legal creation of Golf Australia is a giant step forward and allows us to move forward positively in 2006," Hallam said.
"We are looking forward to developing initiatives which will represent all Australian golfers and reflect their interests and we need the input of all our stakeholders input to achieve this."
