Ex-presidents may play Shark's event
Former US presidents George Bush Sr and Bill Clinton hope to join expat Australian golfer Greg Norman for a tsunami charity golf day in the United States.
The former presidents are spearheading a US fundraising campaign for tsunami relief at the request of incumbent George W Bush.
Mr Bush said he and Mr Clinton hoped to attend a forthcoming golf event arranged by Norman.
"He wants to raise considerable money from Americans in a golf event, and we both told him we want to do it," Mr Bush told ABC TV's 7.30 Report.
"We're now trying to get a date that is satisfactory to Greg."
Mr Bush praised the efforts of Norman and others to assist in the wake of the Boxing Day tsunami that swept the Indian Ocean, killing more than 150,000 people.
"Here's a guy from Australia who is well known in our country, and for no reason he just wants to step up and support charitable relief," Mr Bush said.
"He's a wonderful fellow but there are thousands like that - maybe not as famous - that are trying to pitch in and help on this tsunami relief."
