Kangaroo Grant admits drunken behaviour
North Melbourne star Shannon Grant has admitted that it was his drunken behaviour at a sponsors' golf day which prompted the AFL club to suspend him for one match.
Grant missed the Kangaroos' two-point win over Port Adelaide on Saturday night.
While he admitted to being intoxicated during the North Melbourne Golf Classic at Sandhurst last week, Grant said there was no major incident, claiming it was his general misbehaviour that got him in trouble.
Grant, 31, said he had a previous warning hanging over his head and that his misbehaviour on the golf day led to the suspension.
The Kangaroos have been criticised for their handling of the issue, with coach Dean Laidley refusing to talk about it last week once Grant's suspension became public.
