Warne takes the blame
Shane Warne acknowledged responsibility for his marriage break up and asked the news media not to make things tougher for his family.
Writing in News Limited publications, the cricket star said it was regrettable that his personal life had become so public in recent weeks but he did not give any indication of the reason for the bust up.
Various reports had suggested more than one affair with women since he moved to England to play for county Hampshire this year.
"I do take responsibility for Simone and my separation," the champion leg-spinner wrote.
"But the reasons behind it will remain private.
"While we have separated I am very lucky that Simone and I remain such close and good friends.
"We have shared 10 years of marriage together and have three amazing children who we will always be there for.
"They day my wife and kids left to go back to Australia was especially tough."
