Power setback spurs Tigers
Richmond has received a huge boost ahead of its mettle-testing AFL clash with Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night, with Lions midfielder Luke Power to miss the match because of injury.
Power is expected to miss at least two weeks after breaking his hand in the final term of the Lions' nine-point victory over Adelaide, with a specialist due to look at the injury.
"Luke has been good for us and he will be missing for a few weeks," Brisbane coach Leigh Matthews said.
"It's a bit like one out and one back and what you want is two or three back and none out.
"We have not been able to get the 18 of our (top) 22 on the field. The whole problem is frustrating."
While the Lions will miss Power against Richmond on Saturday night, they are hoping to be bolstered by the return of veteran ruckman Clark Keating (concussion) and key forward Daniel Bradshaw (hamstring).
Both will undergo tests this week.
The Tigers may get ruck-forward Greg Stafford back from an ankle injury as his presence in the tall forward rotation was sorely missed in Sunday's win over Collingwood.
He will have a fitness test on his ankle later this week, while busy midfielder Chris Hyde is available after fracturing his skull last month.
Melbourne could be in for a double boost, with midfielder Cameron Bruce and full forward David Neitz on track to return for the Optus Oval farewell match against Carlton on Saturday.
