Bulloch wary of Wallabies backlash
Scotland rugby captain Gordon Bulloch has warned his team to be wary of a Wallabies backlash in their second Test at Hampden Park on Saturday.
Australia were defeated 27-14 by France in Paris, while the Scots racked up 15 tries in the 100-8 win over Japan at McDiarmid Park.
But the Glasgow hooker maintains neither result will count for anything at Hampden at the weekend.
"I think Australia will come to Hampden and try to right the wrongs of Paris last Saturday, but I don't think it makes it easier or harder for ourselves," Bulloch said.
"We know what we have got to do. We have got to cut our mistakes down and apply as much pressure as we can and then turn that pressure into points.
"We will take a lot of confidence from the game against Japan, certainly from the scoreline.
"There were people scoring their first tries for us and a lot of our plays worked well, especially in the second half. But we've got to keep a lid on things.
"I have been in this position before where we have put points past teams and, suddenly, in the next game, we are facing stronger opposition and we don't do the business on the day.
"So we know it is going to be extremely difficult."
But Bulloch also highlights recent experience of playing against the Wallabies as a simple reason why the Scots should not be over-confident.
