Warne confident of quick recovery
With his broken thumb still throbbing and a doctor's appointment waiting, Shane Warne has arrived home still confident he will be fit for Australia's opening cricket Test against New Zealand in a fortnight.
Despite being told his injury could take up to four weeks to heal, Warne flew into Melbourne from India saying he was a 50-50 chance of playing against the Kiwis in Brisbane starting on November 18.
"It hasn't changed since yesterday," Warne said.
"It obviously hurts, it's broken in two places.
"They say two to four weeks, so I've got to go see some specialists here and they'll have a look at it.
"At the moment it's throbbing a bit after flying.
"I wasn't icing it on the plane - I slept the whole way.
"The next couple of days I'll be icing it - 20 minutes on, 40 minutes off.
"But I'd say I'm a 50-50 chance for Brisbane.
"If it heals quickly in the next couple of weeks, I should be fine."
