Goodes to have scan
Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes will undergo a scan on Monday after becoming the latest victim of the AFL ruckmen's knee curse.
Goodes damaged the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at the opening bounce of Sydney's 27-point loss to West Coast at Subiaco and took no further part in the match.
A Swans spokesman said Goodes was walking comfortably after icing the injury.
Depending on the results of the scan he faces between 1-6 weeks on the sidelines.
The preponderance of AFL ruckmen damaging their posterior cruciate ligaments has raised calls for a change to the centre bounce rule to end the knee-on-knee collisions.
Port Adelaide utility Gavin Wanganeen's 300-game celebrations were put on hold when he withdrew from Sunday's clash with the Kangaroos.
Wanganeen suffered a recurrence of back spasms during the warm-up at Telstra Dome.
He's likely to return to the side for next week's clash with resurgent Richmond.
The Kangaroos expect forward Daniel Motlop to play next week against Melbourne despite injuring his ankle in Sunday's 92-point drubbing of Port Adelaide.
Essendon skipper James Hird faces at least two weeks on the sidelines after suffering bleeding on the left eye.
